Community Work in the Arts

Engaging in community work within the arts is a dynamic avenue for fostering creativity, fostering connections, and enriching society. From grassroots initiatives to established organizations, my work in community arts is a vibrant landscape where individuals converge to explore, express, and collaborate. Work in community arts transcend mere entertainment; it becomes a conduit for social change, empowerment, and cultural expression. Please consider donating, using the links below, to one of the organizations that I volunteer for and love. Both are 501c3 Charities.

Starts With Art - Board Member

Starts with Art is a tribute to Kathi Parisi, who passed away on June 4, 2020 from cancer. Its a continuation of the program that she started in 2017, to encourage children and teens to develop their creativity and self-expression through art. We aim to achieve this by providing financial assistance to tax-exempt organizations that share our mission and uphold the legacy of the program established by Kathi. Funding decisions are made quarterly in January, March, June, and October, with a maximum request limit of $1000.

Our Mission: KPSWA fosters the love of art in children and teens by empowering them to develop creativity and self-expression.

Our Vision: Introduce, Educate, and Enhance the love art in children and teens.

Our Values: Inspiring, Kindness, Inclusiveness, Acceptance

La Grange Art League - Board Member - President

What started out in 1933 as a meeting place for amateur and professional artists, grew into a 501c3 not for profit charity that supports the arts with the western suburbs. La Grange Art League owns the property at 122 Calendar Ave containing two art studios where classes are taught and a gallery where art is shown. It is an exciting time at LGAL, as we move forward in class line-up, open call shows, new programs for artists and collaborations with other art collectives, guilds and leagues.
